The Great Zimbabwe Ruins

Our stay on the Vumba was quick as it was the halfway point to Masvingo where the ruins lie.  This kingdom was founded around 1200 AD and it's central area where the kings lived was here, although the ruins span multiple countries. We stopped in the city for a quick lunch then the students climbed all the way to the top of the ruins!!! I wish that photos could upload right now as it was such a beautiful view of an ancient walled city. Last night was also Dr. Mphandes birthday so we went to a hotel designed to look like the ruins and had yet another five course dinner with birthday cake then a long chat around the fire before we went to our own luxury hotel with beautiful thatched roofs! Now we are on our way to Bulawayo for two days!
